Volunteering at Pine Street Presbyterian Church
Here are a few ways members can serve each other at Pine Street. Check out the Welcome Center in the Gathering Place for more opportunities and for sign up sheets.
Worship
Bread & Wine presenters—8:30 service
Present the Bread and Wine for dedication at the table during the Offertory. Individuals, couples, entire families, friends or any grouping that is meaningful to you are all welcome to participate in the worship in this manner. For more information contact

Crucifer &⁄or Beadle—11:00 service
Carry the cross and the Bible as the choir processes at the 11:00 service. For more information contact

Communion Preparation—monthly
Communion prep workers are divided into 5 teams, each serving one week per month. Team members meet between 8:30 and 9:00 to prepare trays for the 11:00 service.

Food
Meal providers—As needed.
Provide meals to members of the congregation who are ill or recovering from a hospital stay. For more information contact Judy Hall.
Refreshments—As needed.
Provide cookies, punch, light refreshments for receptions after musical events, funerals, etc. For more information contact Marilyn Miller.
Congregational Meal planners—Weekly or as needed.
This team plans and prepare meals for congregational meals such as First Sundays at Five! and the Middle Eastern Dinner. For more information contact Cheryl Goode.
Coffee Hour—2 weeks.
Serve punch and greet after the 11:00 service. Volunteers are asked to sign
up for 2 consecutive weeks.
Other
Helping Hands—As needed.
Assist other members of the congregation who, because of age or infirmity, need someone to help with home repairs or maintenance. The general guideline is "whatever two people can do in a day or two"…paint a stairwell, repair a broken window, clean out gutters, repair a porch or stairs, install storage shelving, clean out a garage, trim shrubbery, mow the lawn…and so on. Ride providers—As needed.
Provide rides to members of the congregation who, because of age or infirmity, need someone to drive them to church services and events. For more information contact Cheryl Goode.
Flower Delivery—2 weeks.
The Sunday morning flowers are delivered to member of the church's Home Department and requires approximately 1 hour of service per week. Volunteers are asked to sign-up for a set of 2 weeks. For more information contact Devonna Van Nest.
Offering Counters—Weekly.
Teams of two meet at the church on Mondays to count the offering. Time required is approximately 2 hours. For more information contact Diana Robertson.
Set Up—As needed.
Set up for special events. This includes poinsettias and lilies for Christmas and Easter, and tables and chairs for the Advent and Lenten Breakfasts. For more information contact Joann Alwine.
Fellowship
Shepherds—As needed.
Shepherds welcome new members and guide them into the life of the church.
