THE CHILDREN’S CHOIR (Grades K-5)
Meets from 9:30 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. Sunday mornings
Children in grades K through 5 are encouraged to make Children’s Choir a part of their regular Church School experience each week. The group is led by Interim Choir Director, Ellen Hunt who teaches them good vocal tone production, engages them in musical games and helps them to learn anthems which they share with the congregation on a regular basis. They sing at the 11:00 a.m. worship hour when they are ready with an anthem and at early service on Christmas Eve. All children are welcome!
THE CHOIR (Adults and High School)
Meets from 7:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Thursday evenings
The Choir is Pine Street’s primary choral organization and leads the 11:00 a.m. worship service each Sunday morning from September through early June. They also sing at the 8:30 a.m. service on occasion, particularly Easter and at midnight services on Christmas Eve and Tenebrae on Good Friday. In addition, they prepare major musical works for presentation with orchestra … sometimes in a concert setting and sometimes during worship. They take on challenging repertoire that enhances worship at Pine Street each week. In addition, there is a smaller group known as the Chamber Singers drawn from the full Choir. This group sings at occasional special services and concerts. Both groups have four professional singers who act as section leaders and soloists.
YOUTH HANDBELL CHOIR (Grades 6-12)
ADULT HANDBELL CHOIR (Adults and College)
Meets from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings
Eleven dedicated adults also play Handbells at Pine Street Church. They play an eclectic repertoire of handbell music which is both fun and challenging. Both adults and college age persons are welcome, as well as a high school student who is well motivated on occasion. It is an evening of good music and good fellowship around the bells.
