The Restoration
|
The calling of Matthew, the tax collector, as recorded in Matthew 9:9, is the subject of the window; it shows Matthew seated at a table with his symbol, the money bag, as well as scrolls and a book. In the near background is another man, and in the distance, four men. In addition to the one large boat, there are several smaller ones, and buildings of the city in the distance. At one time, these panels were two of the four lower panels of the large window in the south wall of Pine Street. During the renovation of 1926, they were moved to this location. |
