BEHOLD, THE TABERNACLE OF GOD IS WITH MEN, AND HE WILL DWELL WITH THEM, AND THEY SHALL BE HIS PEOPLE, AND GOD HIMSELF SHALL BE WITH THEM AND BE THEIR GOD (Revelation 21:3). This text was the inspiration for Mr. Charles J. Connick, of Boston, MA, the designer of this great window. Dedicated to the spirit of militant Christianity. It reminds us of those who have conquered the temptations of Satan in their own lives, and who, through their witness, continually encourage us to stand for the truth and the right. These are the heroic defenders of the faith. This window reminds us that God is with man. It is He who gives us power, grace and courage, and calls us above our human failings to live the life of sainthood, to wear the martyr's crown, and to build the church of God here in the midst of the dark forces of the world's selfishness and sin. This is a magnificent picture of the history of the Christian church. "Here is a picture of the church visible and the church invisible, of the church human and the church divine, of angels and men blending together in the one great splendor of glorious, harmonious color." < |
