Problems

 

  • Deflection (bulging) indicating failure of the lead.
  • Cracked and broken glass.
  • The Restoration

    • Remove storm coverings.
    • Remove all panels and transport to the studio for Historic Restoration.
    • Insert plywood to seal the openings. It will be painted on the interior and exterior, to complement the colors of the building.
    • Reinstall windows and cover with vented, protective glass.

    Restoration Status

    • Returned June, 2010

    The date and maker of these windows are unknown. It is assumed that they are original. According to Susan E. Meehan's history of Pine Street, A Birthplace and Nursery for Multitudes of Souls:

    A contemporary account of the church states,"the windows are light stained glass, which gives a very pleasant and cheerful effect."

    These are the only surviving examples of those pleasant, cheerful windows.
